COLORADO MACAW LICK / SANDOVAL LAKE
5 DAYS / 4 NIGHTS

DAY 1: PUERTO MALDONADO / MALINOWSKI RIVER

Arrive to Puerto Maldonado the capital of biodiversity of the Peru. Reception at the airport and travel into the city. We will take a boat from the port that will take us down the Tambopata River. We will travel a little more than five hours to the Malinowski River located close to Chuncho Macaw Clay Lick. Here we will camp. At this point we will take a two hours hike through the jungle with a guide. In the night it is possible to see caimans in the river have dinner and go to bed

DAY 2: MALINOWSKI RIVER / CHUNCHO MACAW LICK / COLORADO MACAW LICK

Early morning we will travel by the Tambopata River by approximately 30 minutes, until arriving at the Chuncho Clay Lick, to locate to us in the hiding place, place of where we will be able to appreciate the arrival of the Parakeets Parrots and Macaws then we will continue trip by the Tambopata River until arriving at the great Colorado Macaw Lick (greatest of the world) where we will camp in a beach. In the trip we will make fishing and long walks. In the night it is possible explorer the river to see caimans in the river. Have dinner and go to bed

DAY 3: COLORADO MACAW LICK / SANDOVAL LAKE

Early morning we will have the opportunity to enjoy observing the activity of the macaw lick, appreciating to parakeets, parrots, and macaws of different species like the Ara Ararauna, Ara Scarlet, Ara Macaw, Auroras of yellow head and without number of parrots that in colorful spectacle eat the clay of the rich cliff in salts and minerals, specially calcium that serves to them to decontaminate of fruits that contain toxic substances for the macaws. After breakfast we will return to Sandoval Lake. It will take a little more than one hour to arrive at the Mejía Lodge (basic accomodation) located close to Sandoval Lake. We will arrive and you will be placed in bungalows according to your reservation. We will walk through the jungle with a guide which will take a little more than two hours. We will see a great diversity of flora and fauna. In the night it is possible to see caimans. We will return to the lodge, have dinner and lodging.

DAY 4: SANDOVAL LAKE

After breakfast, we will take a boat of the Sandoval Lake, where you can see the great diversity of flora. You will see orchids, platanillos (heliconias), ungurahuis (wild palm), and aguaje palm. You will see a great quantity of otter, ducks, black and white caimans, wild hens, taricayas (small turtles) and a variety of fish. It is possible to take a refreshing bath in the lake without danger. We will return to the lodge for lunch. After lunch we will visit another part of the Sandoval Lake. We will return to the lodge.
In the night it is possible to see caimans and the great diversity of wild life around the Sandoval Lake. We will have dinner and lodging.

DAY 5: PUERTO MALDONADO / AIRPORT

Breakfast and transport from the Lodge to the airport.
