Day 1: CITY TOUR

Pick-up and transfer from airport to hotel. p.m. CITY TOUR, guided visits to the Cathedral, Temple of the Sun (Qoricancha) and the four archaeological sites near the city (Saqsayhuaman, Q'enko, Pukapukara and Tambomachay. Duration: from 14:00 to 18:00.
Overnight at the hotel.

Day 2: VALLE SAGRADO

Breakfast at the hotel.
9:30 a.m. Excursion by bus to the Sacred Valley of the Incas, visiting the indigenous market at Pisaq, Urubamba (lunch included), the fortress at Ollantaytambo and the market and archaeological site at Chincheros.
6:00 p.m. Return to the city of Cusco.
Evening meal and music and dance show at a local restaurant.
Overnight at hotel.

Day 3: CUSCO - AGUAS CALIENTES

Breakfast at the hotel.
Transfer from hotel to train station.
Overnight in Aguas Calientes.

Day 4: MACHUPICCHU

6:00 a.m. Excursion to the citadel of Machu Picchu, including the shuttle bus to and from the ruins, entrance fee to the archaeological park, the services of a bilingual guide, return train to Cusco, transfer to hotel.

Day 5: MARAS - MORAY

Firstly we visit the Moray amphitheatre, used as a agricultural laboratory in Inka´s time, these include most notably several enormous terraced circular depressions that were used to study the effects of different climatic conditions on crops.
The depth of the pits (the largest is about 30 m deep) creates a temperature gradient of as much as 15° C between the top and the bottom. As with many other Inca sites, it also has a very sophisticated irrigation system for providing the plants with water; after that we continued to Maras, where we can see how the local work in the old salt mines, since pre-Inca times, salt has been obtained in Maras by evaporating salty water (provided by a nearby subterranean stream) in the sun, leaving the salt behind.
In the mines there are thousands of salt-pools; when light is reflected there the effect is said to be quite stunning.

Day 6:

Breakfast and transfer from hotel to airport.
End of service.
